We researched a spanish speaking country and wrote a children's story describing a regular in that country and I picked Chile. We also had to write one about what we do in Durango on a regular day. We had to put all of this in Spanish.
My story is called Durango

Self Reflection: I think I deserve a B on this project because I have met all of the requirements for the project, I bought I hard cover to put my pages together, I typed up and printed and pasted in the text and pictures so that my project looks cool.
Project Reflection:
What I will take away from this project is how to write and read in Spanish. I learned better with the vowels because I practiced reading over and over and eventually got it. I am proud of my progress in learning to write Spanish because I have seen all the progress I have made the last couple weeks. If I were to do this project again, I would change some of the hand drawn pictures with internet photos because I am bad at drawing. A challenging part was making sure all of my words and verbs were set up correctly so Spanish speaking people would understand my story. Surprisingly I did quite well with this. I used advocation to get help with words I didn't understand so I was successful in the end. I want the world to know about my experience with this project is that if you try, you can succeed.
Del Alma Reflection:
I went to the Del Alma over at Needham Elementary where I read my spanish story to a spanish speaking child. The kid didn't show any interest in the story I read, but when we changed around reading partners, others did and some of the kids even pointed out the words I was saying wrong. The exhibition overall went well.
Arte Y Lengua
For this project I made a painting based off of the artist Rufino Tamayo. I also wrote a page with information about my painting and on Rufino Tamayo. When we were done, we had an exhibition where we had to only speak in spanish to many spanish speakers about the project.

What I learned from the revisions process is that you need to do almost four drafts before you have good work. What I learned about the artist I studied is that he was active in politics and was inspired by the Mexican Revolution. What was challenging about this project was memorizing everything I was going to say at exhibition. What I would do differently next time is change some of the things I put into my painting and change some of the colors.
